This is a early picture of the Gilford Hotel as there is no telephone poles or streets lights that can be seen.  It was a sad day when this build came down,

The Gilford Hotel - often referred to as the Hotel Gilford in print.

It was a sad day when this build came down, There was some interest in preserving it at the time but it was in bad shape and would have take a dedicated person with lot of money and patents to have brought it back to a usable condition. There were no grants or Tax Credits available for such work at that time. The word grants and Tax Credits were not used at that time. Tax Credits were first  available in the fuel shortage in the 80s for adding solar heat collectors to a home.  This was dollar for dollar help, as we added a $8,000.00 solar to our  roof and this tax credit  paid our income tax. There was also tax credits on new buildings with solar heat or added  insulation.  There were many solar companies born out of this ruling at that time.
