Buggy Days
Antiques is located in Seneca, Kansas, in the northeast corner of the state.
The store is located in a historic building, which for the past sixty years
housed the Luebbe family hardware store. Owner, Jolene Holthaus, has turned
her ancestors' hardware store into an interesting antique collection. The lot where Buggy Days presently sits was purchased in 1859 by Samual Lappin from the Seneca Town Company. Around 1885 a hardware and buggy shop was built under the ownership of George G. Willams. A. L. L. Scoville owned the store in the late 1800s. Ray Eley bought the building and business in 1929. He sold out to John Luebbe in September of 1944 and was know as "Luebbe's Hardware" Norman Luebbe, Son of John Luebbe returned from the service in 1946 and started work in the hardware store. John Luebbe died in 1951, and his wife Nellie and Norman operated the story until Norman purchased it in 1960. Norman added heating and plumbing to the business as well as operating the store. He also had a tin shop on the third floor. The business was sold to his daughter, Jolene and her husband Roger Holthaus in 1993. At this time the Business was named "Buggy Days" and now sells antiques and collectibles. Store open Wednesday, Thursday and Friday . Store hours from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm.
