After the
fire is out and the decision made that life should go on, the
community joined together to look to the future. The burned out school
will come down and we must prepare for the new. The sadness
was replaced by a determination to do what was needed and the
community will do what is best for Students and Teachers.. I
learned that AHRS Construction would be removing the Corner Stone
this would be something for the
records at the Nemaha County Historical Society. Friday, March 30,
I learned some of the crew from AHRS would be removing
it in the afternoon and I Had to be
there. To the upper right we see the Corner Stone after the brick
had been cut and prepared to cut them away with an air chisel. To the
left we see Glen Cudney and Rohn Kuckelman, from AHRS and Tim
Holthaus cutting bricks away in preparation for the removal
of the Corner Stones.

About this time it
seem to me to be a good time to go home and get a drink of
water as it should take some time to cut the stone to remove the
Time Capsule.
However to my surprise it was less than 15 minutes when I returned and
it was all over. . I learned that the capsule can be removed
from the bottom of the Corner Stone once is cut out of the building.
. I needed a photo of that capsule so I proceeded to the
School office and took picture to the right. This is Dr. Beck with
the sealed copper capsule which will be opened May 6th after
the Pork Chop Supper and Auction .
