Here the fountain is drawn in the center of the street in a Roundabout.  This roundabout is small and will help the drivers of Seneca becoming familiar with such roundabouts that oar in other areas as they are  become more numerous.  This will add to the beauty of our Main Street where ever it  is placed.  No decision has been made.

Below are three photos of small  Roundabout the appear on the KDOT webpage  along with other information  Click here to open KDOT webpage

There are three small roundabouts on a narrower streets that our Main Street.  These may be see on  KDOT webpage.

Many  Roundabouts are  much larger than the standard neighborhood traffic circle  that deflect the path of vehicles, thus requiring motorists to travel at reduced speeds. Roundabouts are designed to provide adequate capacity to the intersection, minimize delay. The roundabout  reduced travel speeds, and reduce the number and severity of collisions at the intersection.

Traffic circles can be an effective treatment for controlling  traffic and speed, especially many local streets.

On narrow they do require some extra space and are limitations to the locations in which traffic circles may be appropriate.

In many instances roundabouts can accomplish the same traffic calming goals as traffic lights.

Problems  with upkeep and repair of  traffic lights can be  eliminated through the implementation of a roundabout.

Here there are "Curb Extensions" on the curbs  to slow traffic with a small Roundabout on a narrow street. This info below comes from  KDOT webpage "

TEXT From KDOT webpage... Chicanes, curb extensions, or other traffic calming treatments may also be introduced in conjunction with the traffic circle. The treatment shown in the picture at left helps to provide additional deflection and define on-street parking locations in the vicinity of the intersection"

The Main Street ins Seneca is wide enough to have room for a larger roundabout if it were desired.
