Advertisement in the news paper always refered to this business as "Simons Fair". This building was The Strathmam Department Store for many years. The building to the east of this building is the "Professional Build" with 1884 on the front. This is the same building there in the year 2004. The next building could be same as the one today which is the Heinen warehouse today in 2004. To the far right at the end of the street is the Opera House with additional pictures on these pages. The building on the left which only slightly shows was The Cooksey Auto Store and it collapsed on Halloween, October 30, 1968. There are only three buildings in this picture and possibly a fourth that have survived from that time. |
