This web sight contains a collection of pictures from the past.  There are of pictures of the early days of Nemaha County  and surrounding areas from days gone by.  Some of these pictures are  as early as the  pictures of the first Cabin in Seneca as well as pictures through the 1800s and early 1900s when Seneca grew from a open place in the  prairies to what it is today.  Many of the buildings from 1900 still line our streets today.  Many of these building have been maintained and are in fairly good condition.  This web page is designed to bring many of these pictures and stories of past days of Nemaha County to you.  It is hoped that we can bring some pictures, stories and names previously not seen before to these pages.  Any one with stories or pictures of the past who would care to share them with the community are welcome to do so here. We are very fortunate to have many people in Nemaha County that are   descendants of the early settlers of this area.   If you have pictures or stories that date back to the late 1800s or early 1900s you would like to share please bring them to the Nemaha County Historical Society.

This web page was started before I belonged to the Nemaha County Historical Society  which is located in Seneca, Kansas. This web page has changed into a useful tool for that organization.

This page carried their web page until March of 2006.   The Nemaha County Historical Society now has a web page at http://www.skyways.org/orgs/nchs/      Click here and find
