Note John E Smith' farm west of town where the old golf was located.
Railroad running up what is second Street today and the spring on east hill  which got
from the owner of the land it was located on. The trail came close to the spring.
It very likely that Capt Smith sowed the oats or millet on the trail north of the spring.
